    HI,

I have recently purchased a Black 2.2Ghz Macbook and the keyboard has been frequently completely freezing. At random times the keyboard stops responding and I have to reset the computer. This has been going on for about 2 - 3 weeks now.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there any way to fix it?

    David

I have experienced it on my white Macbook a couple of times... once I had to restart, the other time, I just closed the lid and opened it again and it worked. I think it may be a Leopard bug... so I guess we just have to wait for Apple to come out with a Leopard update?

It is an issue with Leopard that Apple is aware of. Really the only solution is to wait until Apple releases an update for it.

Yeah, its Leopard...and well documented. Just waiting for Apple to release a software update to fix it.

I just had that happen about an hour ago! I've had the computer for about 2 months and this might have been the third time that it happens.. I held down the power button to shut it down. I hope that Apple fixes this soon.

Ya this is one of those bugs that is inexcusable. Apple really needs to get on this.

I've had this happening with only the Finder. At that point I brutally stab Finder in the face, and then restart it, and all is well. Glad I don't experience a system-wide keyboard lockup. That'd really suck. (Can we stop the Windows bashing now?)

Well it happens often under Tiger for me (even after replacing the keyboard).

Luckily I've never experienced the keyboard freezing on me in Leopard... but what I do notice is occasionally when I hit a key, it won't register. I think there's some kind of keyboard bug in OS X that's making these things happen, because I never experience it in my Windows partition.

Yeah, its an OS X issue, and not a hardware issue (which thankfully means it can be fixed in a Software Update).

I know that, I was implying just as some people have bugs with Leopard and some don't, maybe your specific system is having the bug ;)
