    Hi,

I was wondering are the any other differences between the 2.0ghz and the 2.4 ghz macbook apart from the processor, hard drive and backlit keyboard. Also do people think there’s a major difference between the 2 models and its worth the extra money to buy the 2.4ghz one?

    That's all.

It depends on what you want to do with it. What do you want to do with it?

Mainly work/internet including wireless. Occasional gaming as well. Will the processor make a huge difference? or is the RAM more important?

GPU makes the most difference and the MBP will eat a MB for breakfast in that regard

I don't envisage much gaming, unfortunatly I can't afford the MBP. I know the MBP has a higher graphics card than the MB, does it have any other features?

If you plan to do any gaming at all, I wouldn't advise buying an Apple, period. Yes, they can play games, but only the expensive MBP is a capable gaming machine. Given that you cannot afford the MBP, I would really recommend looking at other laptop models that offer far better value for a lower cost.

To be honest, I dont think there will be much gaming if any at all. Its not a problem. Its mainly for work. The long battery is also good for wireless. Do u know any other laptops with a large battery life that I could look at that are reasonably priced as I was going to use the higher education discount for MB?

It sounds like 2.0Ghz and 2GB RAM is more than enough for you.

You can always upgrade to 4GB RAM and 320GB/7200rpm for example.

Yep that's my thoughts exactly. Its very tempting to go for the higher clocked cpu, but in reality, more memory and a faster hdd, will provide more tangible increase's in your everyday tasks.

The macbook's geforce 9400m is actually a pretty solid card. It beats out the older 8400m cards, which was a discrete solution. I just bought a macbook it handles WoW very well on it. From what I've read, the new Macbook gets about 4+ hours with just browsing and wifi. The new aluminum body is pretty sturdy too. I already bumped it against the wall twice and there hasn't been a scratch!

I'm on the fence with you. I really want that backlit keyboard. Honestly, it's overpriced, but I bought a whole music suite (LOGIC) for $500 which is a deal. So I guess and can counterbalance my costs on that. I think the L2 cache is the same on 2.0 vs 2.4, no?
