Just loaded bootcamp for Lion, went through the partitioning; disk reformat of the boot camp partition and Windows install. It seemed to go well but now the MBP sits there and won't recognize the power on button.

What went wrong? and how to fix it?

    New (late 2011 MBP 17")
    8 gigs; 2.5ghrz; 750 gig 7200rpm HD standard graphics

The partition was ~ 96gigs plenty left over

    thanks

hold down the power button for like 10 seconds to make sure its really turned off...
if you close the lid does the front light do anything? does the battery charge check light up? Plugging in power light works ok?
Dual booting the machine should not be able to affect the machine actually powering on.

The machine is sitting at home right now, didn't take it to work this morning.
I tried holding down the power button, no response but I will try again. I can't recall the front light status but nothing seemed to lit up, again I'll check in a couple hours.

If it doesn't respond to the power button will an OS on another HD be recognized?

I'm beginning to think its a HW problem, time for another trip to the apple store. This is the second macbook pro in as many weeks. Last one the screen went all gaga.

Thanks - I'll let you know what happens
