    Hey i've just recently got my macbook, and u know what? when the notebook wake up from sleep there is some mechanical activity (i don't know exactly what) but, whatever it is it cause vibration, and in turn slightly vibrate the notebook, and the screen. the screen came into contact with the macbook and cause like a bee buzzing sound, it can be fix by moving the screen around.

    anyone here has the same issue?
    i don't think it cause damage but i just wanna know.

    thanks

    I would take it to a store if you can. this vibration might do long term damage.

    I hate to say this, especially this being your first mac, but it seems you might have gotten a problematic one, I would call up AppleCare or bring it in to a nearby store, see what they have to say about it. Don't worry about it though, AppleCare is awesome and you'll be treated great. If they want you to send it in, then do it and get it over with, after that you'll have a nice MacBook.

    It'll all be done with Overnight shipping too.

    hang on, this is getting annoying now, it seems the "micro" vibration and noise is coming from the cpu. it does sound somewhat electrical though, but it could just be the micro fan they have, anyone here having similar issue?

    if you care to help or wanna find out if you have one; try this;

    1) turn on your macbook;
    2) extend the display fully;
    3) put you macbook to sleep;
    4) after it sleep; turn it back on;
    5) did you have the buzzing noise?

    btw; any of u here has the key misaligned? the "T" key is very misaligned

    Nope, mine don't. The only other person I recalled on the forums here that had similar problems was GeorgineV, I believe she sent in her MBP to get fixed.

    What week is your black MB?

    You are sure you are not mistaking it for the DVD drive spinning up right? If it is indeed something else, I would take it to repair ASAP. It might be a loose screw in the heatsink, the fan spinning off-center or something worse.

    This is a difficult problem to diagnose online. Take it to an apple store and they will let you know if there is something wrong. I think its the superdrive vibrating when waking the computer that is causing the problem.

    i think so too in the first place; but after, taking closer inspection, the vibration is stronger on the left side.

    called apple today; they heard the noise over the phone; told me it's not normal (obviously :p) they've been very friendly; told me to go to apple center; why can't they just go to my house? that'd be more convinient...
