When it comes to bags for your laptop, there are two basic options, the first of which is to get a laptop specific backpack or messenger bag. There are alot of options here but alot of people prefer to go with the second option, which is to get a laptop sleeve that is padded to protect their laptop and a normal backpack or messenger bag in order to allow for even more choices. You could also get a sleeve and put that in the laptop compartment of a bag for extra protection. Either way, here's a link to a post that has a ton of manufacturers and vendors for bags, sleeves, etc. clickity click

Edit: that's a huge list. some bag companies people around here like are
    Crumpler
    SF Waterfield
Pakuma (just released in the US)
Tom Bihn (very good sleeve like case)
    Timbuk2
and of course, the generic targus, kensington, ogio, etc

www.ebags.com has a really good selection of bags.

I personally like the look of Booqbags but they're overpriced, and I own a Chrome messenger.

I bought my Incase Messenger Bag, it fits perfictly, and I can fit my mighty mouse, magsafe power adapter, and remote for it with a little bit of spare room. It is really good and the strap is very comfortable. I also think that the inside is perfect for a notebook, it is very confortable and soft. It also fits the Macbook in nice and snug so that It can not move around when being carried. If you want I can find the exact name of it, mine is a platinum color, and I paid about 50 bucks for it.

I bought the Swiss Army Backpack for my Macbook, although the size is made for 15.4" notebooks, the way they designed it still prevents anything smaller from moving around as well.

I got it because it was one of the most quality backpacks I have ever seen before, plus I can tell its going to last a long time, and that extra bigger 15.4" space will come in handy for in the future when I get an MBP.

I bought one as well. I plan on putting my MacBook in it whenever I get my MacBook, but I use it for school now.

If you are talking about the red and black Swiss Army backpacks by Wenger, then I have one too. It's the best backpack/laptop backpack I've ever seen. This is the one I have.

Thats the exact one I have, its just awesome in terms of quality, plus it has the best 'stand on its own' base I've seen yet too. Plus its more roomier than anything else I ever tried.

Such as notebook assessorie compartment, music player compartment with plenty of room for studio quality headphones, nice comfy straps, a base to stand by itself, headphone cord hole. Bottle water holder, etc etc.

I use a timbuk2 messenger bag and like it a lot. I think I will invest in a backpack bag later on though as those seem more comfortable at school. I really like the Crumpler bags, but they are ridiculous expensive and I can't seem to find them anywhere for a decent price. But they are sweet!

I have never seen the crumpler bags.

However I should mention that it would probably be wisest to get a backpack than a messenger bag, the sole reason I have for that is simple.

backpacks are more discreet in terms of what its contents could be, well a messenger bag isn't to thiefs its almost saying "hey look theres a laptop in here".

    Just my two cents.

I got Swiss Wenger bag at Office Max for like $50. It is ridiculously roomy and yet still doesn't look or feel bigger than your average backpack. The back cushion pads are VERY thick and comfortable too. Everything about the bag is perfect.

In my case, i went with a large messenger because my backpack would take on a weird boxy shape with my laptop in it that was a dead giveaway. Also, I know it's just my experience but I've had straps break at the plastic clasp twice with wenger bags. I still have one though :D The main benefit to backpacks is really the even distribution of the weight on the shoulders, especially if you have alot of walking to do. But if you actually ride a bike, then a messenger with a stabilizing strap is more comfortable in my experience.

Yeah, the link was temporary. What was the name of the item, Arman?

Nevermind, found it: "I bought a Platinum, Incase Messenger Bag for my Macbook" <-- from his Macbook review :)

Looked it up at the Apple Store, looks good.
