I am starting to feel that I need to purchase a tower, so I can actually do some modern gaming. That's right the Macbook is all I have at the moment, no desktop. So I was wondering, if I was to buy a pc tower, can I hook it up to my Macbook and use it as the monitor, so I can save $? Can I possibly do the same for keyboard/mouse (I doubt it)?

    Any comments are welcomed. Thanks

    Short answer is no.

Longer answer is, you could do it using a TV/Video capture card but it would be expensive and you could end up with 500ms or more of latency between your desktop rig and your MBP display. Considering a 20" widescreen LCD can be had for under $400 AUD, it's just not worth the trouble.

I have an Xbox 360..and it runs oblivion very well. You could spend well more than 400 on a PC to game as well as the xbox does. Since you already have a computer..have you considered a console? The xbox also does much more than play games

    :p

lol, that seems to be the #1 use of a PS3.
    Certainly not for gaming!

But no really, if your not a hard core pc gamer, just get a 360 or a wii. Or both.
