Anyone use this combo? Thinking of a Macbook since the Dell 1210 is so expensive, and a Macbook can be had for quiet a bit less. Using really for Worprocessing, but MSWord at the Apple store I went to was slow as anything; I know it needs a new version (2007?).

Just curious if anyone uses it cause I think I would love the rest of the notebook. But functionallity comes first!

And this will be used in my lap a LOT, so I hope the heat isn;t TOO bad... >.>

I thought there were issues with OOo on Macs. Wikipedia says:
Good luck with whatever you chose.

    A sad revelation indeed :(

Is there anything that can use .doc files that runs well on a Macbook? I type pretty fast when doing plays and flipping in and out of formatting, and can't have alot of lag to keep productive.

I believe AbiWord, which is very similar, may be what you're looking for.

Edit: On second thought, it can only import .doc files. NeoOffice might be OK for you.
