I am a website designer who really wants to buy a Mac
but I'm not sure of all the advantages it would have over
a regurlar Windows notebook.
I like all of the features of the the Mac but I also need to
integrate Windows as well.
What are some advantages of the Mac?
I would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
Chris

Largely, OS X. I guess you'll find the Macbook is thinner, most likely. I personally like the keyboard a lot, now that I'm past that initial hour or so. The integrated mic is about 10 times better than the one in my HEL80, for what that's worth...
Really, it won't have much of an advantage (running Windows) over a PC running Windows. You may find that the Windows laptop serves you better just for using Windows, and is cheaper for a similiar featureset. -
I would definitely say that it's an advantage that you can run OS X and use OS X versions of apps (I'm not sure what kind of website design you do, but for example if you do a lot of HTML coding, PHP coding, etc. you might especially like to use stuff like BBEdit, TextMate, etc.), and also still get the benefits of Windows by installing that as well. I think the advantage there is that you can get what you want on the Mac side while still also having the benefits of the PC side. A MacBook isn't going to be a better Windows laptop than any other PC laptop, but it also shouldn't be any worse either, really.

I love pocket pc phones that have windows mobile os. They're great to use as a PDA, synch easily with windows and are great on the internet. But no matter how long I use one, I miss a regular mobile phone like sony ericsson or nokia. A phone is a phone right? Well, it's the same mith PCs. The irony here is osx has grown so much onto me that I can say without hesitation, a mac is a mac. The rest are just machines that run windows.
When you say designer, graphics, engineer, artists- I hear "mac, mac, mac, mac". My advice to you: Get a mac, install bootcamp to run windows or wait till it becomes pre-installed on osx leopord in march. Consider windows on boot camp a safety net. You can then run parallels which is a virtual machine that runs windows within mac, you won't be able to run more demanding stuff on it but you got osx for that.
