Maybe think twice about buying NIB machines from Craigslist that sound a bit too good to be true then. Would this present a problem should you try to buy Applecare on a hot machine?

LOL! that is epic. all that for 26k. the thief is certainly not greedy.

    the story goes like this...
American Spy sent to China. in order to send the info (super secret underground vault for doomsday) back the Homeland, he needs to split the file into pieces and put it in a hidden partition on the harddrive of an unassuming apple computer. will the file make it back? or will it be stolen by some super secret organization? coming soon...

alternate story, they hire some low-level people. makes it looks like a burglary get the "thief" caught in a setup safe house. framed them, get the notebook through the police department. and let the thief rot in jail, or have a car crash on the way to jail or what not.

$26k of Apple laptops really isn't very many laptops, that's for sure. But still completely epic story.

There was a similar theft in Winnipeg 2 years ago. They cut through the roof and stole 55k worth of lcd tv's. Another one was where they broke into an adjacent building dug a hole through the concrete to a computer computer store next door and took LCD monitors and motherboards
