    There's a whole forum over at http://forum.osx86project.org
It's in the Apple/Mac dual booting forum.

There is a link on the main page as well http://www.osx86project.org/ in the "this week in the forum" article.

I've heard its not possible with XP - there are too many driver issues and the lack of support of EFI on the Windows end. Some say we should see a dual-booting Mac maybe when Vista rolls 'round.

Ah, but it is possible. Instructions for repartitioning and installing both OSes is located here. Looks like a very long and convoluted process, though.

for now it is only possible to dualboot winxp and osx, using the method mach zero linked above. however, there are still some driver issues wen running winxp on an intel mac:
    1. no hardware accerlerated graphics on the imac and macbook (works with mac mini)
    2. internal speakers do not work (only line out)
    + some minor issues.
everyone is working hard on getting the graphics to work - but none succeded yet.

a second approach is undertaken by some ibm programmers who are working on what they call BAMBIOS. have a look here. this method looks a lot more promising than the one abailable now. easier to install and less driver issues.

then there is the possiblilty of emulation software integrating virtualisation technology. this would allow windows to be run out of mac osx, running at nativ speed. the new intel core duo supports this virtualisation technology. there are rumors that apple is working together with intel and microsoft on such a program and that it could be integrated in the upcoming mac os 10.5.

    so far so good
a good solution is goint to turn up - heaven or hell - too many people want it
    power to the people! ;)
    cheers

Ah that's great news for me. I need to be able to support Microsoft and OSX. I wont be buying until July (hoping there might be a speed bump) so by then there might be a better "work around" until 10.5 is out.

If Apple do enable some kind of emulation, then that would be spot on for me!!

    Hmm...

Well, at least now I know its possible - however, the lack of support in terms of drivers would trouble me if I were trying to install XP on a MacIntel. I'm crossing my fingers for a possible OSX/Vista MacIntel though!

I've been interested in this for a while. Just waiting to see how it sorts out in the end. Hopefully we'll have the capability to dual-boot or the equivalent soon.

I would skip this Open Source project and just get it from the horses mouth instead. Check out this thread about Apple's own software, Bootcamp, that let's you install Windows XP.

I know I said something about hopefully being able to dual boot reliably soon, but I didn't think they'd pop this puppy out this quick. Cool.
