I have a problem.... I had a friend bring me a computer that was having issues. It would not turn on so I cleaned out the charging port because it was very dirty. It started to charge and the computer booted but would not load the OS. I can't remember if it gave me the white screen or the HD missing logo? I swapped the hard drive with an SSD and reloaded the OS. The computer worked great except for the fact that the keyboard had a few buttons that didn't work at all. Some of the buttons would just output random characters. My instinct told me something was spilled on it. I ordered a keyboard online and ripped the whole machine apart to install it. There was evidence of liquid inside. I did my research and was very careful. I got everything back into place and now when the computer turns on, it just shows a white screen and the fan runs on full.... I tried to reset the PRAM and the SMC. When I reset the SMC, the computer boots into the OS! I thought the problem was solved but the mouse and keyboard are unresponsive and the computer just freezes. It takes a long time to load. When I reboot it goes back to the white screen. I went through and made sure all of the cables were in all the way. I tried booting into safe mode.... I reseated the RAM. Any thoughts?

    That's Tux, the linux penguin.

I think I may have killed the logic board on this computer.... It may have already been damaged though.

Seems like logic board problem or dead logic board, a usual result of liquid damage

Thanks for responding. I assume it's a logic board issue too. I'm going to take the whole thing apart again when I have some time and reassemble it. If it still doesn't work I will buy the new board.

You could soak the board in 91% isopropyl alcohol and use a toothbrush to gently scrub the board with alcohol on it.

    I'll try that. Thank you.

Anyone know how to find a replacement board if I need one?

Is there anyway to test the board?

    ebay, ifixit or Apple.

not really other than assembling the power components and the screen to the board and powering it up to look
