Ok Mac Vets and Experts :)cough: MasterChef :D ) I need your help.

SR Macbook Pro attempting to use a Samsung Syncmaster 206bw as an external monitor. Using direct DVI to DVI, all should be peachy... but...

I get nothing. OS X recognizes the monitor, but the monitor remains blank. I've exhausted all my resources reasearching, now I turn to you.

    Go A-Team.

Edit :: 24 views later, nothing. Wow.

it should work for sure. Try setting it up manually. OSX should detect the right resolution but maybe it doesnt. If it uses something to high the monitor will ignore it. try going to display properties and setting it up as 1680 x 1050 at 60hz

Did. It is at that automatically, but the monitor fails to display anything.

Maybe you just got a bad monitor. Is it brand new or have you used it before with other machines?

Works fine with a HP laptop and my desktop.

I finally got it to take, but the picture is terribly grainy, with lines, off center, and just cruddy looking. It also portrays the "Incorrect Compatibility Mode" error, telling me to set my resolution to 1680x1050 and 60mhz refresh rate... the problem is OS X has it set at that.
