So my macbook pro won't turn on.

Basically I was watching videos on youtube, closed the browser and then went out to buy some milk. When I came back I opened the Macbook and all the screen did not turn on. I then waited 5 minutes and when nothing happened I rebooted the machine. I heard the machine reboot (not through the speakers but through the internal sounds) and the screen was still off.

I left it unplugged overnight and when I tried to reboot the machine it beeped at me for a second and then nothing happened again.

The battery is not dead on the computer yet, and the keyboard seems to be responding (i hit the CAPS lock key a few times and the light went on and off as normal)

I need this computer for work tomorrow! Can someone please help me out?

What generation is the macbook pro?

To me it sounds like the previous gen, and your video card died. Same symtpons that happened to me and many others.

Though try resetting the pram, and theres a couple of other things you can do that I think are linked on the pram article on apples site.

But if it is the video card, youre gonna have to take it to the apple store, and theyll have to replace the logic board.

Although if you still need access to the data on it, you can still use it in target firewire mode, and you can access screen sharing if you had that option turned on. I was able to still use my MBP during the time it took them to order in a new logic board, because I had screen sharing enabled.
