On my gf's macbook pro the two finger touchpad tap/two fingers on touchpad click option for right-clicking is checked. Sometimes this function stops working, but will work again if I uncheck the option then recheck it. This has never been a problem until recently, and I was wondering if anyone was experiencing a similar issue or has an explanation for this strange occurance.

I've only had it mysteriously uncheck the option.

Yeah it unchecks for me too. But it happens when I install an update mainly.

I have not had it uncheck or have to check and uncheck to get it working again (and god knows we need a right click) but touchpads usually work via capacitance and the capacitance of your fingers changes.

I have one finger that won't operate a touchpad, a few that will sometimes and won't sometimes and many that will almost always operate the pad. You might want to keep the possibility in mind when you notice the issue and try "different fingers"
