I recommend anyone that has the macbook pro get a hard case for it.

If you are tough on your laptop like I am, your notebook can start to bend or dip in the middle, this can cause the cd drive to stop working...you can hear the cd in hitting against the sides....I bought a hard case on ebay strictly for the look. my brother didn't and he has a bent macbook pro with a cd drive he can't use and apple was requesting $850 to fix it because it was not covered under the warranty...

The current MacBook Pro design does have some flex to it. Hopefully the next case redesign will stiffen up the chassis.
