    we still dont know when their coming; but no. apple never really does discounts.

    You can get a discount if you are a higher education student or an educational institution employee. There are also discounts available for developers that sign up for Apple's developers program (ADC).

    Not quite the same as Dell's usual discounts, but the student ones are quite good.

    Not directly through Apple usually, other than Educational Discount and ADC discounts, but if you purchase through a third party, sometimes there are sales, such as $50-100 off at Best Buy, etc.

    The student discounts are. Very nice compared to most companies. Try best buy or newegg every now and again.

    Amazon.com usually has a small rebate ($50 to $150) plus free shipping and no tax. The tax savings can be over $100 alone and can sometimes turn out to be bigger than the student discount depending on your tax rate.
