    Hey all,

Well the machine arrived today. Shipped last tuesday and got delayed in China.. Then monday being a holiday got delayed again but yes it's finally here!!!

Now first I'll start off with an amusing story (i'm using it right now)

Well I first heard a truck pull in about 2 1/2 hours ago. It was a purolator truck I was like I thought it was coming through fedex.. Nonetheless I answered the door and signed for it. Mid-unboxing I find it was the dell computer I cancelled 3 weeks ago!! bloody hell I say to myself..... 20 minutes pass I'm still on the phone waiting to speak with a dell representative but they have HUGE queues and then the fedex truck arrives. Well now another package I'm signing for... and then I open the box and YES! It's the Macbook Pro.... Okay still on waiting to see a dell representative...

Time goes by finally about 35 minutes waiting I got someone who answers... Just to transfer me to returns :p Eureka! I'm glad I followed the options and picked the right choices just so I could get redirected!... Oh I forgot to mention my first phone call died after 10 minutes but anyway that doesn't count.

So finally I get a Dell representative. She's like oh were sorry yeah.. then she goes well if you can keep the dell machine we'll give you a discount, (this is just a cheap 1501) I ordered for my fiancee but ended up giving her my macbook instead cause she prefered it.. Anyway the rep brought the price down to 580$ if I keep it.. I said okay credit it but do I still have 30 days to change my mind? She confirmed yes. So I hung up and now might be selling a dell or.. if not in 30 days returning it :p

Okay so back to the macbook pro, I unpackaged it and started it up, went through normal setup and then did every test I could think of that everyone's been posting about faulty dells.. Like checking for the hinges not closing properly. Anyway so far it's great. I'm installing WoW on it now to see how that runs but so far the size seems just right, and the feel of it even typing feels great!

Get a 2nd girlfriend and give the Dell to her and you'll be all set.

Just don't let them find out about each other.

HAHA yea if only that could happen. i could give you a better idea, but it probably wouldnt be acceptable for the content allowed on this site, so ill get to the main point. ;)
depending on what you have in the dell, you might be able to sell it for more than $580 depending on how good care you take of it. or my recomendation, keep it and try out linux.

If I were the girlfriend you gave the 1501 to instead of the MacBook, I'd feel very spurned and you might be getting comfy on the sofa for a while.

well initially she disliked the macbook so that's why I ordered the 1501 for her. But then I think she's grown fond of it. If she changes her mind though then I'll sell the macbook and either way im sure in this deal I come out laughing... And yes selling it for more then 580$ has crossed my mind.

It's not a machine to write home about but below are the periphs... Due note that's 580$ CDN :p

    AMDTK53- 1700 X2
    1 Gb of 533Mhz ram
    80 Gb HDD
    15" true life display
    DVD burner
    9 cell battery
    Windows XP home
I don't recall the vid card but i think it's a ATI RADEON Xpress 1150 with 256MB HyperMemory
