Hey Guys,
I have a 2010 macbook pro and wondering how one goes about cleaning the vents - the space where the screen attaches to the mainbody of the laptop. I assume this is the vent area seeing has it has square shaped holes across the the space opposite the screen hinge? my question can i take it to an apple store and have them clean that for me?
Hope someone can shed some light on this matter?
thanks in advance.

Use blower with no heat and blow the vents or open the laptop and blow it again with no heat

The bottom is held on with small Phillips screws. Take them all out and the whole bottom comes off, giving easy access to the fans and heatsinks that expel out to the vents. The vent itself will be on the bottom plate. Hit it all with some compressed air, good as new.

Thanks for your replies guys. Im wondering if this can be done at an apple store itself? Im not so great and unscrewing my mac and putting things back in its place on any machine. SO itll be great if you guys can let me know if it can be done at an apple store? -
They will charge you but they can do it.
It's just phillips head screws. -

Its very easy to open the bottom panel of the MacBook Pro. Just have some patience while doing it (so that you don't slip the screwdriver and scratch the aluminum panel).
I do it twice a year.. Good Luck -

Just take your time placing the screwdriver head into the screw and turn slowly. Don't slip or you could scratch your bottom cover.
It's very easy just take your time
