Ok no, just no, u don't game on a macbook, end of story. If you want nothing else but a machine that lets you watch youtube go and facebook and do other basic tasks while looking fancy, go for the macbook, if you do anything that requires more effort like gaming, rendering etc, don't even bother. Macbooks are horrible gaming and producticity machines.

I've setup a MacBook Pro (15", 16 GB) for pentesting ( Kali, Metasploitable and Windows in VM). It works great. Can't say anything about new Macs that might be announced at WWDC.

I may go for the MSI GS65...it's just tough. The Macs just work...last one I bought was a 17 inch in 09 though. It's still running great.

If you got the money, go for it. The Radeon 560 is a decent card, almsot twice as fast as the nvidia 980M.

    That is not correct.

Using Firestrike Graphics as the testing grounds:

The Radeon 560 Pro that is in the Macbooks score ~3900 on Firestrike graphics
The Nvidia GTX 980m that inhabits numerous last gen notebooks scores ~9700 on Firestrike graphics

The Radeon 560 Pro (~3900 score), while a big leap over the previous Nvidia GT 650m/750m in the 2012-2014 Macbook Pro 15 Retinas (~1700 score = 2x+ faster) and to a lesser extent Radeon r9 M370x in the 2015 Macbook Pro 15 Retina (~2419 score = ~1.5+ faster), is nowhere near as fast as a Nvidia GTX 980m (~9700 ~2x+ faster than a 560 Pro).

The Radeon 560 Pro is roughly equal to a Nvidia GTX 960m.

I made a typo, I meant to type 960M. I was comparing it to that card because it was a popular card for notebooks a couple of years ago.

And the 960m is just a 750Ti, stuffed in a laptop..

Dont expect something stellar even at 1080p medium from such a GPU..

Much less going for a 560 if half the usage is gaming..

I ended up going with the MSI GS65 stealth thin. I love my 17 MBP from 09 but I just can't buy in to the new ones
