One thing I'm curious about is the RAM used in the Macbook Pro. According to the website, it's DDR2 5300 which runs at 667mhz. The MBP uses the Santa Rose core and newer chipset which runs at a 800mhz FSB.

Can the MBP run DDR2 6400 (800mhz) memory or will the motherboard lock the memory speed at 667mhz?

Santa Rosa cannot run 800 MHz ram .... the FSB is the north bridge connector with the cpu... and in the santa rosa... this connection has seen an increase to 800 MHz.

So, your better off just getting 667 MHz ram for your mbp ... because even if you get 800 MHz ram, it'll be underclocked and run at 667 MHz.
