    Hey-
I was planning on upgrading both of my 2.4ghz black macbooks to the max 4gb memory and was wondering where I should buy it. Since I am upgrading both at the same time, I wanted to buy for as low as I possibly can but will pay more if that means improved quality. Any help would be helpful, thanks :)

    Hi pleasecorrupt (let's corrupt you),

Where do you live? If you are in the US, I suggest Newegg.com, they're a large, trusted online retailer that offers good prices. In Canada, until Newegg.ca is up and running, NCIX.com is very good. I'm not as familiar outside of North America, unfortunately!

There's no real need for specific brands, most of the time just get the cheaper RAM as long as its somewhat known and offers a good warranty.

I personally prefer OCZ, Corsair and Crucial.

Oh wow, they are doing a Canadian site, but are they going to have the good same deals as the .com site? Hope they won't be shipping from the states either. We will just have to wait to find out.

Well, I don't know if they're going to be as good as American prices (if we're willing to pay extra, why not profit right; of course, we're not willing to, but we've been cheaped out so long I think a lot have been used to it by now). But more competition is always good, maybe if NCIX sees itself losing business it lowers its price and its better for everyone.

I have a 4 GB kit by G.Skill (2 x 2 GB sticks) that have been awesome for my MBP. I recommend them along with Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, and OCZ.

    I would go with Amazon.

I just got a 4 GB Corsair from them.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00160YDSS

With $40 rebate, it is only $69.99. It also has cas 4-4-4 latency, which is faster than the typical cas 5. I know that a lot of people here doesn't think that it is that much better, but at this price. Who cares? I got it and it works real well.

I have to consider Amazon more often now-a-days... their selection of computer parts is sometimes cheaper than what I'd find on NewEgg.com. :p

I usually do NewEgg or Buy.com, sometime zipzoomfly. But lately Amazon has some good deals.
