Is it true that the MA model macbooks can only go to 3GB memory and not 4GB? Thanks for the help.

    MA model?

Anyway, no, all Santa Rosa MacBooks can support up to 4 GB of RAM. Previously, the Core 2 Duo MacBook supported up to 3 GB of RAM.

How do you know the difference between Core 2 Duo and Santa Rose? I thought the Santa Rose was a Core 2 Duo processor.

When I mean Santa Rosa MacBooks, I mean MacBooks with the revision that included the Santa Rosa processing platform. Santa Rosa is not a Core 2 Duo processor, it is a processing platform.

When I mean Core 2 Duo MacBook (which in fact, the current Santa Rosa MacBooks are still using Core 2 Duo processors, just to be clear), I mean MacBooks from the revision back in 2006 and price cut in May 2007 where the MacBook was updated to Core 2 Duo processors.

The model number. It can be seen on Apple's website... or your MB box. Check my sig... mine's a SR MacBook so it's MB instead of MA.
