Anyways I want to upgrade the harddrive on my mac and I want a good cheap harrdrive with plenty of space or an affordable ssd.

Where can I get such a harddrive i dont know what exactly is compatible with this laptop.

    Thanks.

anything that is sata should be compatible. So I would go for a 1tb drive or a 750gb 7200rpm drive.

Alright sounds great can you link me with any good suggestions because, i want something good with a good price. Thing is i have never seen these old macbooks with more than 250hd space. I thought they couldn't support more then that. But anyways, what brands should i go for. Links are welcome.

    Thanks!

You'll find that every HDD brand (WD, Seagate, HGST Hitachi, Toshiba) has their cheerleaders who swear by them, and their detractors who say they are the worst ever, so it really doesn't matter. Buy new drives, not refurbished.

Search @ Newegg for 2.5" hard drive. You'll get the best speed from increased high-density techonology, so don't just look at capacity and check the part numbers against this blog.
