Anyway the macbook is great and I am enjoying it!!

Just about any microfiber cloth should work fine (there's some packages of iKlear specifically designed for this which include some cleaning fluid too).

If you don't have a computer or electronics store near by, you can also purchase a microfiber cloth from just about any optical shop.

Why dont you use some kind of protecting film? Cleaning the Macbook every other minute is not cool.

I never heard of any for the keyboard yet, nor have I even ever seen any for a notebook at all.

iSkin (makers of the iPod EVO skins) have made a skin for the iBooks and Powerbooks keyboards for a while now. They are working on a version for the MacBook right now according to their web site.

After a few weeks of using the blackbook, the smudges seem to get less...or they just stopped bothering me. You can buy an invisible shield from shieldzone.com and cover the palmrest, trackpad and mouse button. Ebay aslo has a keyboard cover for the macbook.

I can't comment on these, but I saw Marware had a MacBook Protection Pack that you might want to check out (it's basically a sort of leather guard for the wristrests, as well as a cover to put over the keys (which I think is mainly to keep any oils from the keys from marking up the screen):

    http://www.marware.com/cgi-bin/WebO...catalogCatID=224&wosid=tfwYVWCkrvktrynlR9spsg

Many people sell the iKlear packs, but here's the link to their site so you can see what it is (they sell it online as well):

The InvisibleShield stuff is transparent, so it doesn't have a color itself:

    http://www.shieldzone.com/category/laptops/

(you'll have to scroll down a bit to get to the MacBook stuff). They have multiple options - i.e. you can just get something to protect the bottom or top, or something to protect the whole thing including the wristrests, etc.

I don't know how hard they are to apply, but if they are like the invisible shields for the iPod, they are usually not too difficult to remove and reapply if you have any problems.

    They have two versions

    1. Standard, This has adds protection for the trackpad, trackpad button, palmrest area, and the top outer case.

    2. Total coverage, this adds protection for the entire thing except the keyboard and screen.

The product isn't cheap, both of them, however you get a lifetime warranty, meaning if it gets bad, you can just send it in for a free replacement.

It's pretty nice and fairly simple to apply, however I'd recommend getting a friend to help in the application of the top outercase and apply it the long way.

I never heard of that before, but as long as it doesn't drip down the screen, has no alcohol or ammonia it should be fine.

I applied mine on when it was new, and wasn't dirty. They give you a small bottle of spray that helps the film stick better, it takes about 24 hours to set than. Now on Blackbooks, the film gives it a glossy like look.

Oh wow, I just noticed something.

I took a look at my palmrest just now, and its got yellow like everywhere that my palm rests on, so naturally being a bit nervous about it being the case that the color is showing from, I peeled some of my SheildZone off to look underneath, and it's still white like the day I got it new. So I'm happy I bought invisibleshield

So I would HIGHLY recommend ShieldZone right now.

Excellent product, however expensive for what you get. I use Monster ScreenClean from Radio Shack, now in this link this isn't the exact product I have, but pretty much the same. http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...lean&kw=monster+screenclean&parentPage=search

Its 3x the amount of iKlear as well as it comes with its own microfiber cloth, it works great. Contains no Alcohol or Ammonia, and does not drip down the screen which could drip into openings which is bad!

Anyways the exact product name is Monster ScreenClean Display Cleaning kit. For 19.99, its also available at local radioshacks if you have one nearby.

Like I said, I'm not sure if Apple addressed the matte issue on the blackbooks yet, besides I thought you were getting white anyways. I'm just saying I'm happy I paid the money for Shieldzone, it was worth the money.
