I just got my magsafe adapter replaced and when I plug it in, the light is not on and it says battery is not charging. Its running on the adapter. I tried resetting the pram but that didnt help. I'm guessing this is a hardware failure, logic board?

It is most likely the new adapter if your laptop was working fine when you had to have the old adapter replaced in the first place.

Well the macbook is being run on the adapter, so I don't get how it could be because of the adapter.

This happened to me on the other day when my battery was at 95%. And then i just used my macbook and ran the battery down to about 90%. And i plugged it back in and it started to charged again.

What was wrong with the old adapter? If you know that there is something wrong with the old adapter and not your laptop, and you bring a new adapter and continue having problems, chances are thats its still the adapter that is having the issue.

Am I not following you on this?

The old adapter died because it wouldnt charge.
This new one charges but doesn't charge the battery
So I'm thinking it might be the battery or the logic board.
Sorry if I wasnt being as clear as possible

So both of your adapters cannot charge the battery? Then I would agree that it is likely a problem with the battery or motherboard. Assuming you have it under warranty, I would send it off for Apple to fix.
