I'll be in the US this Summer and might pick up a macbook air as its a lot cheaper over there. Are the keyboards identical or are there any major differences?

there are very minor variations among different models, but there likely wont be any variations between UK/US. If they are, they would be extremely minor.

I agree. I have an UK airbook but recently had to borrow a mates airbook which was a us one.
The most frustrating thing was hitting the return button. On the uk keyboard it goes over two rows of buttons whereas the us one goes over one. The amount of time when I went to enter I hit the backslash button which is above the enter button on the us keyboard instead of the the left of it above the right shift key.

Also the grave accent and tilde key have moved. I use shift tilde a lot to rotate through open windows within an application.
Instead of it being to the left of the z key it is next to the 1 key.

    Thanks
    Colin

If one do write stuff on the keyboard one quickly learns to adapt. The differences between US and UK are very few anyway, the largest one is the enter key layout.

I think it's about time for Brits to start using American keyboards. They should start measuring in miles and gallons as well.
