As a case, it seems all good.

However, the makers have intended it to be used as a "skin" as well. It would seem to fail miserably in this regard, for it completely blocks the inlet and outlet cooling flow of the fan at the rear of the Air. If the Air were known to run cool, then it might only be suspect. But the Air is known to run a bit on the "warm side". Mine certainly does.

I would caution users to remove the computer before operation.

"A novel way to cover Macbook"

I have problems paying money to a company who use very odd/strange/wrong grammar as well... maybe its just a typo.

putting it in a hardback binding that looks like a book makes it much larger.

there are hard case solutions which are extremely protective and much thinner, and don't look as silly, and are cheaper.

Wow. I sense some conspiracy theory there. Someone definitely want to devalue Air with making them 5 times thicker. Good plan.

That looks like a solid macbook pro case. It looks rather large as a MBA case.

I actually think this case is useful. there is alot of places where carrying a mac air may not be a good idea because the area is unsafe or whatever. letting everyone know your carrying a expensive piece of equipment isnt always smart. ive seen people get jumped just for their iphone nevermind a laptop. this case makes it look like a book and makes it safer to carry. especially in the city.

This seems like a neat way to hide that you have a computer, but making it look like some ancient tome handwritten by monks just makes it too hipster-like for my taste.

The case itself seems alright. I have come across a lot better and a lot worse. My main worry would be how well it protects the system and, if one uses the case as it was designed, it will definitely do more harm than good due to the case blocking the air intake and outlet vents for the MBP and MBA lines. That right there is a good way to turn any MacBook into a hot box rather quickly. The makers of this case should go back to the drawing board and instead make something less pretentious that better protects the computer as well as actually allowing people to operate their units without harm. A nice sleeve would suffice instead of this "skin" book design that will simply melt the computer.

Blocking venting = stupid. Making a MBA a full inch thick = stupid.

Actually Acme Skinny is really awesome but I want something looking cool and gives me protection 'while' i'm using the laptop. I thought about getting Incipio or Speck shell but I heard they scratch if some dusts get in between.
