At the moment I am running a desktop connected to two 27" displays. These displays are cheap korean models that only have a single dvi-d input, with no scalar built in so must always run at 2560x1440.

I am looking to buy a macbook pro / air (preferably air) that can connect to these two displays in the mac osx operating system. This will mean that my setup will be desktop -> kvm and macbook air -> kvm and kvm -> dual 27" monitors. (kvm would be Newegg.com - IOGEAR GCS1642 2-Port Dual View Dual Link DVI KVMP Switch with Audio)

    Is this possible?

At the moment the only idea I have is to buy a thunderbolt eGPU such as AnandTech - MSI's GUS II: External GPU via Thunderbolt (which hasn't been released yet). This has the issue that the hardware isn't available yet, and from my reading it appears they are aimed at win7 users where driver support is much better.

Is there any other way to achieve what I want?
