I'm not sure if this is normal, but the spacebar on my MBA 13 lacks tactile feedback. It feels really mushy compared to the crisp tactile feedback of the other keys.

Sometimes the spacebar doesn't even register. I really need to make sure I press the spacebar with enough force.

I ordered this from the Apple online store. Should I call Apple or take it to an Apple Store in person? If I went in person would they replace it or attempt to fix it?

I don't think that's normal. I would take it to an Apple store and compare it with models they have on hand. My guess is that Apple would want to attempt repair first before replacement.

I just returned the laptop. It was getting too annoying and I don't want to get it fixed. I'll probably just order a new one.
