I just got my 4GB crucial kit in today, 2x2GB 800MHz DDR2. Since the new white macbook update just came out (2.13GHz), and it reportedly supports 800MHz RAM, I decided to try and upgrade mine (2.0GHz model). I just wanted to report that my macbook recognizes it no problem, and reports the speed at 800MHz. :)
I created this thread cause someone may find this useful. :)

    Sweet. TY for that.

I have the same exact whitebook and I was wondering which RAM to upgrade with (just got paid and I'm in the mood for some spending).

I'll look into those, but would these work also?

I heard that OWC ram kits were some good reliable ones to go with.

I always prefer Crucial, never had a bad batch yet. :)
    You need 200 pin, SODIMM, DDR-2, NON-ECC, unbuffered RAM. I know that's a mouthful. :p

If you're interested, this is what I got. It's a little more pricey than others, but $55.99 I thought wasn't bad for the quality you get. :)

Edit: Whoa! I just looked at your link. You're getting ripped off dude! I would go with Crucial, or atleast check out Newegg if anything, but not macsales.

    LOL.

I heard macsales was good. I guess it's good to hear both sides of the story!

But I'm checking out the link you posted and I think I'll go with it as well! Hey we have the same macbook and if it worked for you, then it should work for me!

Gotta go get ready for dinner with the girlfriend, so when I get back, I'll get to the ordering process!

The dinner or the RAM upgrade? =P

I just saw KNP's post and I think I'm gonna try to order it right now before the girlfriend catches me not getting ready. Haha.

Thanks again for the help x]

Woot. Just got my RAM today. Came home from work to find the package laying on my bed. Got 2x2GB Crucial RAM sticks from the newegg link above and shipping took about 4 days (NJ to CA), only for about $55 shipped.

Installation was a breeze. Probably the hardest part for me was deciding what the RAM felt like once it was pushed in fully.

But yeah, I play WoW and last night, I wanted to see how much of my RAM gets eaten up while playing and lo and behold the whole 2GB was eaten up. Today, I still had a little less than half of my RAM left unused.

Next up, HDD upgrade...haha...but that won't be until later...

Good to hear! You got the 800MHz RAM right? Click the apple, then About This Mac, and it will tell you right there. ;)

Cool, enjoy. :D I don't know if it's just percieved or not, but my system "feels" faster since I installed 800MHz RAM. :)

That's ridiculously cheap from Newegg. I didn't find a huge difference going from 2gb to 4gb, maybe just a bit snappier response from the OS.
I guess I'm not doing any video editing or hardcore kind of work.

2gb to 4gb makes a HUGE difference if you use VMware or Parallels.

and what the heck happened with the dinner?

hahah the dinner was pretty good.

The 2 to 4 upgrade was nice, especially when playing WoW.
