Is there a site that has a list of Windows games benchmarks under Macbook?

I want to see how well Windows games play under the 1.83GHz white Macbook.

There was a thread on the MacRumors.com forums.

You can get a pretty good idea though by looking at how Windows games perform on just about any 1.83 GHz C2D based laptop with Intel GMA950 graphics.

Essentially, you'll get decent performance from older games, and there are people who play stuff like Half-Life 2 and WoW, at least with lower detail settings. But the GMA950 is really going to be a limiting factor.

If gaming is a concern at all, and you do want to play more demanding games, you really need to look at a higher spec'd PC notebook, or look at one of the MacBook Pros (which cost quite a bit more, but which have an ATI X1600 that is more capable of handling modern games). I currently have a 2.33 GHz C2D MacBook Pro and it has handled most things pretty well (Oblivion, Supreme Commander Beta, BF2142 demo, Gothic 3 demo).

Given the cost of a regular MacBook plus a Windows license, you could get an Asus, for example, with an X1600 or X1700 or GF7600/7700, for around the same price.

anything that doesn't use 3D in games should work pretty well

Zadillo, where do you set the amount of memory you want to use for the video card in Windows? What about in OS?

Sorry, honestly don't know where in Windows you control the amount of shared video memory with an Intel GMA950. Possibly it's somewhere in the graphics settings, but I don't have a system around to check.

In OS X it isn't possible to change the amount of shared video memory.

well i did not see an option in the intel driver to set the shared memory but windows xp reports it as in the 200Mb range. I think it might be dynamic based on needs. But i don't know.

Yeah, I guess that's the thing, because it says that that the maximum video memory is 228 i think, but where it says current video memory it shows 10

The GMA950 isn't good for gaming on any computer, so the MacBook isn't any different. As stated, if you want to game, look at a MBP or a better specced PC.

Could it play something like Age of Empires 3 and stuff like that? Civ IV?
