    Hey folks,

my macbook will be delivered tomorrow, i ordered the white 2Ghz core 2 duo model with 1GB Ram and the 80GB HDD. If you have any questions related the book, don't dare to ask :) This is my first Mac, well it is the 2nd but i don't really know what the name of the first was, at least i know that it had a grey box so it must be very old. Didn't really used that so don't ask me mac os x related question, i am total mac os beginner :)

edit: Oh those **** bastards, 1 hour it's is beeing said that the packet is going to be delievered on the 20th, now it is the 21st. I hope that is going to be fixed tomorrow!

Enjoy! I have the exact same machine and love it. You might want to get one of the Speck hard-shell covers to prevent scratching - otherwise you will find it scratches rather easily.

How much does it cost and where can I purchase one of those hard shell covers? Does anyone have a picture of one?

They are available at http://www.speckproducts.com/13mac-seethru.html. They cost $49 US (though they're a bit cheaper at Amazon and elsewhere).

I am a little annoyed that I bought a red one about a week ago and now they have blue, the color I really wanted, but oh well . . .

How does it hook on? I'm afraid I'd be carrying my notebook and something would break so I'd be holding onto the plastic and the laptop would be falling to the ground.

Do a lot of people have these?

It snaps on to the top and bottom halves of the computer. It's quite secure and fits like a glove - it can be removed without tools if you want to remove it, but it won't ever just fall off. In terms of how it mounts, take your MacBook and look at it as I describe:

You mount the bottom half by hooking five claw-shaped tabs into the bottom of the hinge in back, where the cooling vents are. You then snap it in place, where it is held in front by two flat tabs that hook onto the ~1mm portion of exposed case around the edges of the machine. As for the top, there are four small tabs that snap onto the same exposed edge of the case. It takes about 10 seconds to mount both halves of the case and would take maybe 25 seconds to remove. There is no adhesive and no tools are required.

I am very happy with mine and only wish I'd bought it sooner, since my MB attracted some scratches in the few weeks before I had the Speck cover. I also wish they had had the blue one for sale when I bought mine! I have the red and it has attracted a lot of attention when I use it in public - I think the blue would be more subtle.

It is cool, it is small, really a great size, but felt haevy firstly because it is so small but in knew it is not the lightest for it's size but definately better than my 15,4 asus a6ja.

screen is good, but viewing angles could be better, still much better than with my asus :)

    The picture paqtrick22 requested :)

you guys don't like the black?

is it because you dont think it's worth the extra money just for the color and a few minor upgrades?

    I don't pay 200 Euro more for 40 GB Harddisk space :D

And white is fine for me!! It gives you a positive feeling, really... a light and bright environment is also better for working purposes! :)

love my macbook haha !! :)
