I'm more into thinkpads, but I love apples too. My friend is looking at purchasing a Powerbook 15", and I was wondering what a decent ball park figure would be for it. It is in good condition, except 1 minor dent on the case. Otherwise everything is great.

    Powerbook G4 15"
    PowerPC G4 (1.5)
    100gb harddrive
    1 B Ram
    W/ Tiger

From what I looked on ebay, maybe in the 700-800 dollar range, but let me know what a realistic price would be for it.

    Thanks

EDIT, Sorry the title should have been powerbook -- my bad.

$700 is on the high end of what I'd pay for that. It's quite an aging machine, comparable to early Core Solo processors.

That is what I told him. The extra money for a core duo was worth it in my opinion, but I wasn't exactly sure how well the older Macs held their value. Are you saying more 400-500?

You can get a refurbishd MacBook from apple @ around 900, which is a pretty good deal IMO.

Yeah, I would pay the extra bit for an Intel Mac. The Powerbook G4 isn't around $500, but anything above $900 is too high, if you ask me.
