It says " SHANGHAI CN 8:53 AM package data received.
    3:32 PM
    Picked up
    3:58 PM Left origin
    SHANGHAI CN
    Package received after FedEx cutoff

Nope...all PCs are built in China, Taiwan, or other facilities out of the country. Some might be partially assembled in the US, but only the final steps of construction.

Designed in the US, yes. Built here? I wish. But that would mean the price would at least double. $5000 for a MBP? I don't think so.

Do you know if the facilities are professional environments, or are they sweatshops?? Do they just hire women and men off the street and pay em 50 bucks a month or do they hire professionals?? Are these facilities owned by apple or are they third party companies producing the products??

I cant see how apple puts so much prestige and quality into their products, & markets them as oozing with those qualities as well, & then subjects them to sweatshop type conditions when being built.

I've ordered 3 macs directly from Apple, they all came from Rancho Cordova, CA. They're made in China but can be shipped from any place near you.

If you order a pre-configured one they will ship from California I believe. If you do a custom order they come from China. yours was still built in China, it was just stocked here as one of there pre-configured setups most likely. ^^

My order was directly through the apple online store as well.

Yea. Taxes in the US are so high (and they're only gonna get higher) that so many companies have gone to other countries for most things.
