Hello,
Kind of a weird question, but I seem to remember when I first got my MacBook Pro (2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM), and I booted it up, I would hear the famous "bong" sound real quick and the Apple logo would appear pretty much immediately and the log in prompt would come shortly after that.
Nowadays, it seems like it is on the order of 10-20 seconds before I see the Apple Logo after the "bong" and another 10-20 seconds for the log in prompt to appear.
I haven't added any memory or hardware. The main thing I did was software wise. I installed Boot Camp, tried Windows out using it, then went back to one Mac OS X only partition.
Was I imagining the speed initially and what I am seeing now is more normal?
Thanks.

Did you unpartition the original Boot Camp partition? If not, that is why it takes a bit longer. At start up it is detecting the two partitions and automatically selecting the one set to "default boot".

I did unpartition the original Boot Camp partition (I think). I went to the Boot Camp assistant and did so. And now I only see one hard disk icon on my Mac OS X desktop.
Is that what you mean?
