I just got my C2D MacBook Pro about a week ago and ordered a Speck case off of Amazon.com for $20. Unfortunately I find out that the Speck case seems to only be for Core Duo MacBook Pros and not the version I have. So does anyone know of a good C2D MacBook Pro case that I can buy? Also, anyone interested in my Speck case? I want to get it off my hands so I can get something else. I really like this case, but they don't seem to make a Core 2 Duo version! Argh.

    Thanks.

Um, just because there is a different processor doesn't necessarily mean that it will not work. I think the shells and locations of the ports are all the same...

They're not actually; Speck had to actually update the SeeThru case for the Core 2 Duo MBP (I think the biggest specific change was the firewire 800 port, which the original CD MBP did not have). I think they also made some changes to accommodate some of the changes in the vents, but I don't remember.

dagamer, contact speck (or return the case to Amazon). Speck has an updated version of the case which they say works with both (so I figure they came up with a universal design).

i have the speck case for my c2d mbp. I assume you bought the cd case. The only difference between the two is the extra firewire 800 port. So instead of making another mold they just trim-off all the individual port openings on the right side. You can save yourself the money and trouble by using a sharp knife or razer. That's the only difference between the two. $20 is a deal btw, I paid twice as much for mine in Feb.

Could you possibly take a picture of what your Speck case looks like? I want to see where they made the cuts.

It won't exactly be that easy. The FW800 port is in the middle, so the placement of the second USB port and the FW400 are also moved. Here is a picture of a CoreDuo with the Speck case:

    And a Core2Duo with a Techshell case:

Sorry for the size, but as you can see, the FW400 and USB port were moved down the line as well as the lock.
