When I'm in Mac OS X, my computer runs nice and cool unless I do something very intensive. However on the other hand when I am in bootcamp it becomes very hot and the fans kick in often. Battery power is also crap in XP.
Is there anything I can do to change this? Why is this happening? Maybe is there a way to use 1 core or downclock the GPU?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, its been "well-noted" by most Mac users running Boot Camp; right now battery life is lower, and heat is higher while running Windows in Boot Camp.

With parallels and fusion the system doesn't run as hot. My preference would be to go with fusion so you machine runs with less heat. Try that if you have the software

i have found it isnt all the much worse, havent used vista on battery yet but as for heat i found it only gets a little bit hotter, what do u have running in windows?
also a way to solve this that i use is to install SMC fan control software for OS X and just pump up the fans a little, they're still quite inaudible in OS X then reboot into windows and the fans will stay with the same fans speed. -
I have noticed the MBP did kick in once on high speed when I was using bootcamp 1.4. Normally it doesn't and temperatures can reach 70-80c.
MacBook Pro WinXP = hot
