I have no idea whats going on, I have had Linux + Windows since a couple of months ago without a problem, so I don't have MAC OS X, but the problem is with Windows.

It started to happen a few days ago and is getting worse, what happens?

-The computer gets frozen randomly, for about 30seconds and then its working again, it doesn't give me any blue screen or something like that and everything is back and working normal after those seconds. And it happens how I said randomly, I don't know why and when its gonna happen.

-Its weird the Messenger doesn't loose connection and if is there some installation going on when it ocurrs, it will finish normally after the freezen time.

I've tried first Vista, when it started to happen, then I Switch to XP SP3 and then I reformated again, because I read something somewhere about doing the "long" format before instaling Windows, and the same luck, still getting those freezen periods that **** me off.

Well, with Linux? at the moment its running perfect, compiz enable also, nothing weird there.

So... 8600M Issue? It happens even when I just boot up the computer in the morning, so it cannot be hot...

I have no idea, and why I am more worried even?

    -The warranty its gonne.
-I opened the entire laptop to change the hard-drive, does it means I will have to pay the repairment if Its even confirmed as the nvidia "thing"???

    What do you think? :(

If you're not getting coloured lines rendered across your screen or overheating, then it probably isn't related to the GPU, especially given that you're not getting fatal errors in Linux as well as Windows. If you could give more information regarding the BSODs (such as the error code), then we can proceed to look into the cause of the problem.

Have you tried updating all of your drivers in Windows to the latest versions? If you're not seeing banding or blocks of colors across your screen, I doubt that it's an issue specifically with the GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor.

If you're really concerned about it and believe that there is indeed a problem with your unit, I would recommend contacting AppleCare or visiting the Apple Store (and see the Genius Bar) or visit an Apple Service Provider in your area so they can run some further diagnostics.

You can run the Apple Hardware Test from your Mac OS X Installation DVD as well, simply insert the DVD into your SuperDrive, restart the computer and hold down the D key on your keyboard.

    Good luck! :)
