    Hello
I am looking for experts and experienced guys who tried to play with their macbook pro 2007 overclocking C2D T7700 and maybe underclocking GPU while surfing on internet or doing office work ..

I installed windows 7 x64 and I ran win experience index and I have VERY LOW score on CPU .. even ram score is low and gpu as well only my SSD seems to be right score ..

I ran throttle stop but I really don't know how to configure I had couple system crashes while using it ..
    here is score :

you have to enable dual ida, search google for that. The gpu already downclocks from default.

Sincerely, you are having too many troubles with that apple machine, I dont really know why you keep it, you have installed several OSes in it, you had color issues, despite a quick google search should have solved that... and it goes on...

Sincerely why dont you return it and get something that works as you like it?

Not saying dont buy a mac, not at all, I do own one, and use 3 different OSes in it. Its just that it has surpassed the point that is worth it, its old tech, and you want to change everything in it. think about it

I am detecting issues and solving them step by step .. you know ..
I dont want any other laptop I want this cos I like design ..
And I have FS amilo 1554 and there is even slower cpu T7200 and score is 5.0 in windows .. rams same .. and runs 667 same as in macbook pro

Yeah I checked HW info and there is IDA in red that means only one core runs ..
I have enabled IDA to green but system then restarts .. I need to prperly configure throttle stop ..

I would strongly recommend not overclocking the CPU, for a variety of reasons.

    1. It will cause additional heat, which can damage your components.
    2. They are out of warranty and extremely expensive to replace.
    3. You will only be able to get a marginal improvement out of the CPU by overclocking (potentially not even detectable outside of benchmarking)
    4. WEI is a useless benchmark, you should not rely on it in any capacity.

    Yeah you right always ;)
Once I try open throttle stop laptop just restarts at any time .. randomly
even when fans are set on 5000 rpm
yeah the logic board is 250 to 300 pounds ! uuf
i know bt i hate when i open windows and they are laggy aah hate it so much
    I like smooth run !
WEI is good I like it I really do not need mega suer duuper benchmark .. really not interested I just comparing between my fujitsu siemens laptop and that is same age
    and same technology .. core 2 duo T7200 2Gig ram at 667
sad is that SATA generation is first so is slower ..

If applications are laggy when you launch, they are still loading. That is due to your hard drive speed, and overclocking your processor wont help.

Those words in that order don't make any sense to me, unfortunately. I suppose we agree? I don't know.

Ahh sorry I disagree a bit I meant that windows when I opening so they has fading animation so sometimes it's tearing so that is due gpu is idle and then it fine it is not SSD when is loading cos SSD score is 6.9

Still makes no sense. I would try a different translator and make sure you try to express yourself as simply and clearly as possible. Good luck.

I still have no idea what you're saying. I don't think this is a British English vs. American English issue.

While masterchef341 is being a bit of jerk, he has point, your grammar is a little rough.

Let's get back on topic. I understand what you're saying. When you close Windows, the effects lag. This leads you to believe that you have a GPU problem. Have you tried the latest GPU drivers from Nvidia or are you using the bootcamp driver?

    Hello thnx
Thing is that cpu running at half
I have the latest drivers 301.42 for GPU
That boot camp has old drivers (I mean basic ones for gpu wi-fi -lan etc but obviously apple orignal drivers for touch pad camera and other apple hardware I used from boot camp ..
but what buggers me more is cpu
    I found thread here
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-tool-automatic-cpu-overclocking-utility.html
that app called setfsb is not working for me

You shouldn't have to overclock it. You should try the old bootcamp driver, sometimes older is better. Also, your MacBook has an 8600M video that is notorious for failing, it could be going bad.

I have under-clocked GPU you know by nvidia tool
Yeah that's true I heard that GPUs n macs are faulty
But I used throttle stop JUST for disable single IDA
I had couple automatic restarts .
But when system restarts the settings are back to original and system is running well but bit slow .. for T7700

Why did you underclock your GPU?

Bdecause mac underneath is very very hot and cooling is very VEAK
That is WY all macbook pros gets faulty because of nvidia chip melts.
I have downloaded very useful app which controls speed of all mac pros fans
And there is temperature CPU (blue left fan) 50-60 degrees and GPU (red right fan) is always hotter 60-70 deg.
So I have underclocked gpu and temperature is same as cpu , fans rpm ! At 4000
    rpm

Have you considered cleaning the heatsink out. A lot of dust can accumulate over 5 years. G
    U
Additionally, the Nvidia chips don't melt. They go bad from being heated up and then cooled down repeatedly.

    Ooh this is my tradition
One i purchase and receive laptop i immediatelly strip it down and clean motherboard in acethone and in ultrasonic bath ..
Then We have air pressure system and there i cleaned fans .
    All pure clean :)
What i only need is disable IDA intel technology feature single core run..

i have realised why windows are lagy at beginning .. !
The GPU when is idle and no hard app is running GPU will underclock itself to very low frequencies .!
once there is load it boost gpu to normal operating freq.
