    MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Mid-2014) w/ Yosemite - REALLY slow speed USB 3.0?

    Per the title, my MBP have really slow read/write on both USB 3.0 ports (left and right).

    I tested each ports with the following USB drive:
    • - PNY 3.0 256GB Flash Drive (P-FD256TBOP-GE) --> Best Seller (#1) in Amazon with 4.5 stars review
    • - SanDisk Ultra Fit™ CZ43 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ43-064G-G46)
    • - SanDisk Ultra 64Gb MicroSDXC - tested with an SD Card adapter

    Each of the drive was tested with Disk Speed Test and the result show the drive speed of 43 Mbps READ and WRITE ( see screenshot below). All of the drives are formatted with Yosemite Disk Utility (Mac Journaled).

    Is this a common problem with Yosemite or the MBP itself? It's almost impossible that all 3 Flash Drives are bad.

    Interestingly, Yosemite System Report shows the drive, when connected to the MBP ports, have 5Gb/sec speed, as shown below.

    The problem with such low speed is that I cannot use any cloner application (SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner/CCC) to create a bootable backup disk, which were working just fine in my old MacBook Air with Maverick. Booting up a Flash Drive with CCC takes 20 minutes to get to the login screen!
