Anyone buy a MacBook Pro last year during "black Friday"???

I'm wanting to buy one and I just want to know if Apple had a sale because I can wait a few days. I called Apple and they said "we only know when you know" LOL

I think they gave like a hundred bucks off the pros and 50 off the regular old 'books.

The rumor originated from this so-called Black Friday ad by Apple...

Well it's not going to hurt me to wait until Friday, I'll let you all know!

If true I will be the proud owner of a MacBook Pro and I will use my Alienware M15X for Target practice!

WOW That's kinda funny, my M15 being shot by my M16 :D

MBP 13 inch are on sale for like $100 discounts at BestBuy...you can also buy refurbished from Apple store which will give you more discount, plus it comes with the same one year warranty.

I've seen these "discounts". Another word for rebate. Best Buy's "discount" is a mail-in rebate for a prepaid Visa card.

My mistake. Bestbuy's Prepaid Visa card is instant, not mail-in. But I bet you can't use the card to pay for the Mac.

Apple has given a whopping 10% on Black Friday the last few years.

Best Buy will usually beat this if you ask,I have and have bought during the whole week after the turkey for the last few years.

They are doing well so why give a discount like those not doing well?

Also I have bought many Refurbs and they are always just like new, sometimes they are spec'ed better than listed too. And they carry a normal Apple warranty with the normal option to upgrade it during the first year.

I am in a bind here. I like the MBP 13 and I would consider buying one if the deal is good enough, but I keep hearing about new MBPs in January...

I talked to Apple and they offer a price guarantee, so if their price changes on black Friday or 30 days from purchase, they will refund the difference.

Apple doesn't really do sales. 10% sounds about right, once a year, on black friday. that is their big sale. hehe

However their store hours are extended on BF. Got the email this morning. hehe

Is this in addition to the student discount (50 for Macbook, 100+ for MBPs)? Or is it just the 10% off.

I dont know about apple stores.. but Best Buy is giving $200 off macbook pro 15 and 17 inch models... The only limit is they top out at 2.8ghz processors while in apple store you can buy a 3.06ghz processor..... but if 2.8 is fine visit best buy's website then add the item to your cart and you will see a 200 bucks discount
