    MacBook Penryn refresh?

    The MBs were updated to Santa Rosa not that long ago. I would expect to see the MBPs updated to Penryn first then followed up with MBs a few months later.

    MBP probably in another 1-2 months. macbook, 1-2months after that.

    i just jumped on the 2.2 SR MB in NOV'ish when it came out. i hope they dont do an update that soon

    It hasn't occured yet, as the MacBook was just updated to Santa Rosa in November...I'd say the MacBook may skip Penryn and update right on time for Montevina's update later this year.

    Penryn and Montevina are two different things, really...Penryn is a processor, the successor to Merom. Montevina is the processing platform, successor to the current Santa Rosa platform.

    I don't particularly follow Intel news that much, but Montevina was supposed to be released in the middle of 2008, but I think it may have been delayed...not too sure myself.

    My guess is that MB will not be updated till around October. They are generally behind the MBP updates by a few months. If Apple does do an update for the MBP in the next month or so, then they will likely update the MB line before Sept. If not, then I doubt it.

    Well hell, I figured they would update it right away since they didn't need to do any redesign. If they update the MBP in a few months maybe I'll just spring for that.

    I'm hoping for a Macbook Pro update soon. Hopefully before end of Feb, not that I need one badly but I've been wanting a new laptop for a few months now.
