the screen flex is probably going to be standard seeing as this notebook is soooo thin!!! Apple screens are extremely good though, so it will be good.

Looks like they're having a blast with this product. They love products like this. Could be a big hit over there.

Yeah, the Japanese are usually willing to pay for premium products.

The screen flex, haha! Not surprising though...considering how thin it is.

Even from the commercial released, you can see the amount of flex in the screen as the hand pushes the screen down.

Does anyone know what kind of screen they are using?

I'm starting to wonder if it's one of those screens Samsung introduced a while back. You know, the one that you can roll up. ;)

Of course they like it. The MBA is small, and they're japanese. xD

Also, if anyone ever flexed the screen of my $3000 laptop I'd beat them down with a lead pipe, then break a piece off, make them swallow it, and have them get terminally ill from poisoning.

    Japan gets EVERYTHING early. :p

I mean really! The other day I saw these iPod speakers that are "waterproof" and that look like a raindrop, that was labeled "NEW!".

I saw them in Japan 2 years ago. xD

Even with things like MBA they probably get them a lot earlier.

what would possibly make you guys think that this is already available in Japan? you do understand that Apple is still an American company do you not?

just like everywhere else in the world, the MacBook Air will be shipping in Japan in 2-3 weeks. how do I know this, well I went to Apple's Japanese site. just because the press has the chance to take a look doesn't mean it is available yet. have you heard of MacWorld? it is this event in San Francisco where press go to check out. . . nevermind.

Japan does indeed get electronics created by Japanese companies earlier than the rest of the world (what a suprise) other than that, you guys are extremely mistaken.

Love the videos. No one can quite appreciate new cool gadgets the way they can in Japan :)

They won't be able to keep this one one the shelves in Japan.

lol yep. Macs are starting to get popular in Japan or so I've heard. But my friends tell me computer use is declining in Japan since you can basically do everything on your cell phone.

Yeah, considering Mac OS X Leopard outsold Windows Vista in Japan for the month of October (remember, Apple released Leopard on the 26th, meaning they only had a few days to outsell Windows Vista): http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/11/14/2054200

I heard apple was popular in japan a long time ago, this kinda shocked me because in North America everyone thinks that the Japanese computers are the best while in Japan, they think the American computer is the best.

Well, most of the Japanese love style...I mean, look at their electronics, it always seem to be design as the main priority...and Apple is very much into style, I think most will agree. Therefore, Apple appeals to them.
