    Don't do it :p

All the MBA has going for it is the thinness, which wears off real quick.

You'll be taking a financial hit to get a loss in performance and marginal gains in design and weight - not worth it IMO. Unless you really really want a 13" for some reason, it's a bad trade,

Just think of the reasons you bought your MBP instead of the MB in the first place, and you'll be fine.

If you really really really want a new laptop, trade your old MBP in for a new one after the refresh :p

Well yeah hahah it's good to get the word out about your [crappy] home country eh?! The only good thing about the crappo state of economy is that things are so expensive here that I can sell stuff bought out of the country relatively cheap, like how I sold my old macbook for $2300 or something, don't remember, and got the mbp with that. I put my mbp on an auction just for kicks, and it's going for 11000BsF, or a little over $5000 usd. If it does sell I will get another mbp and something else for the house, either imac or mac mini, i dont know, that's why i was asking so much about imacs and airports and whatnot, and thats why the air seems so tempting, cause I can get it so easily. Of course each person only has $5000 a year to spend outside of the country so things like that dont get out of control.

I should add that im lucky enough to travel often and be able to do this. In here not many people can travel abroad. Also my mom and dad dont use their dollars, neither does my brother, so I have about $20000 a year to reap the benefits, and its not like im ripping people off, for example, my mbp is selling for a BARGAIN at 5k, since usually you can get it for 8k or so at shopping centres.

For those interested, here's a link to my auction.

    boom.

Well to be honest it doesn't make up for the high crime rates, insecurity, lack of dairy products anywhere, crazy prices for products here, etc etc. I'd rather go back to Canada to be honest.

sorry op for hijacking your thread :p

There must be some highlights to living in a country where the leader has the unique ability to detect trace amounts of sulfur with his nose :p

It's so funny I don't know much about countries abroad. For some reason I visualize Venezuela as some beautiful place that with fancy high rises and castles. I guess I think that because of the fancy name. But if you can get you a great deal on the air after selling your stuff I say go for it. :D I love the Air but I want the SSD model. From what I have read the speed is really fast.

    LOL! Too true eh?

Well to be fair it IS a beautiful country. The great plains, angel falls, coast on the caribbean filled with beautiful beaches, dunes, one state which is high enough that it gets snow... all in all very varied landscapes, very pretty. All in a nice little tropical package without winter or spring all year, just rainy and 'unrainy' season. No castles though, just the occasional fort here and there.

And yes, we will see about the air. If I should get one it would be the ssd model, as I too have heard it's a lot speedier and better battery life (closer to apple's 5 hour mark), but I guess I will have to wait and see when places like panama city or aruba start carrying them.

That's the number one thing I love about the forums is the community chat. It feels like we are posting messages to our nearby neighbor when we are actually chatting across different countries. Talk about free long distance. I don't even talk to my apartment complex neighbors this much. :D
