Which keyboard do you personally find to be of better quality and or comfort; the MacBook Air's or the MacBook Pro's?

I haven't use either extensively (mostly just messing around in Best Buy for like 3 minutes at a time), but I greatly prefer the MBA's over the MBPs.

both are very nice IMO. the MBA is like the MB which i love. i have the wired apple keyboard thats just like those two, and i love that too.

i own a MBP, and find the keyboard just as good, just a different design. If i had to pick between:

the features of the MBP, with its keyboard

    OR

the MBA, and its slim-line, but lack of features...

it would be hands down the MBP, again.

I'm not a big fan of the MBP's keyboard. I like the MB-style keyboard, and use an Aluminum external keyboard most of the time (very similar to the MB and MBA). So I'd personally take the MBA keyboard, I assume (though I haven't actually used that one).

I want to qualify my response by saying I have never used the MBA keyboard but I have used the MB one and own the MBP and use it extensively for typing. And I am sorry to say that the MBP keyboard is not very good at all. It feels very squishy to me which causes me to make mistakes when typing. I really hope Apple swap over to the MBA/MB style in the mythical MBP redesign. Very sad to say that this will be one of the major reasons I am planning on purchasing a Vaio TZ when the Centrino 2 refresh comes out. I hate vista but I have no choice if it doesn't change soon.

One thing I think the MBA may have over even the MB is that it has a sloped design (higher at the back than the front) which should lead to a better typing position overall. Can any MBA owners confirm this?

I personally prefer the MacBook keyboard over the MacBook Pro keyboard. So for me, the MacBook Air keyboard is best, since its MacBook design and feel, with backlight :).

I've not used the MBA keyboard, but I have used the MB and the USB Apple keyboard (the new one). I can say they pretty much all pale compared to the MBP keyboard. I do a lot of coding and the MBP keyboard is WAY better.

It's nice and soft, has low travel and it doesn't have stupidly large keys that are spaced too far apart.

The MB keyboard is bad enough, that if they moved the MBP to use that keyboard, I would refuse to ever buy one again.

I have a MBA and really love the keyboard. I think that it is the best keyboard that I have ever used (although this is my first mac) as far as typing goes. I make far less typing mistakes on the MBA keyboard than on my various desktops, or asus w3v keyboards.

A few things do drive me crazy, such as the lack of dedicated page-up, page-down, home and end keys. Also, the fact that there is no dedicated delete key really annoys me (but this is more of a os X thing).

I know that you can press apple-backspace for the forward delete functionality, but sometimes this does not work, and you have to press fn-backspace, or something else. I wish it was consistent...

Well, the arrow keys allow you to scroll up and down slowly...if you want to go all the way to the top of the page or bottom, press the arrow key with Command/Apple. Then it works :).

And I don't know why it isn't consistent, the Command + Delete is always consistent for me...is it Leopard again?

Here's an example of the inconsistency: to delete a file from the desktop, I have to press command+delete. If I am typing something, the command for forward delete is fn+delete. No big deal though, just slightly annoying.

As for the arrow keys, unfortunately command+(direction) does not work properly in the terminal.

I own a MBP while my sister owns a MB. I personally love her keyboard a lot more than mine. Mine feels soft and squishy, whereas hers kinda has that "springy" feel. I find that I type faster and more accurate using her MB's keyboard than using mine.

This is the problem bothering me right now, I got my new laptop (sager np5793) 2 weeks ago but the keyboard is too springy for me, simply because i got used to my softy MBP keyboard.

I guess what these replies show is that, there is no "better" keyboard, it is really your personal preference :).

I have a MBP and an Apple BT keyboard (similar to MB and MBA keyboards). And to be honest, while the BT keyboard is nice, I much prefer just typing on my MBP keyboard. Like Sam said all of the keyboards are good, it really comes down to personal preference.

From my experience you either really really like the MBP's keyboard or absolutely hate it.

I have a MBP and am fine with the keyboard, it feels like a normal keyboard to me and I don't notice any real deficiencies. Then again, I have had it for a year and I guess anyone could get used to anything in that time.

I really like the MBP keyboard.

I am no 'touch typist' and so am no expert, but I find the MBP keyboard a pleasure to type on, compared to my Windoze machine at work which is effective but defintely not fun. I also have an apple wireless keyboard which is nice but I prefer the MBP one.

Its probably just overuse now, but I prefer my MacBook keyboard over my desktop keyboard. I am a touch typist (80 WPM averaged, quite proud of myself :p).

I have a MBP and have used the MBA keyboard a bit and just got an aluminum external keyboard. While I find the MBP keyboard to be nice I much prefer the MBA and aluminum keyboard. They have a much better response and are not as squishy. However, I am faster atm on the MBP because I am still getting used to the aluminum layout.
