Hi, I am wondering which software is good + accurate for monitoring CPU, HD etc temperatures in Leopard (OSX)
THanks

iStat Pro is a good temperature monitor for various areas throughout the Mac. I think it should work fine in Leopard, as its just a widget.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
you can also get the istat menu things. i use those aswell as the widget for quick glances at stuff

Thanks guys, I am using CoreDuoTemp, it's not a widget, but I think it's more comprehensive.
Anyway, It seems like it's not very hot yet (35C - 42C). I have the T7500 also. -
iStat pro/menus/nano >>>>> CoreDuoTemp.
And Temperature Monitor >> CoreDuoTemp.
iStat is definitely the best and most comprehensive. CoreDuoTemp is outdated. Also use Activity Monitor (Applications --> Utilities).Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Yeah, iStat Pro is easy to use and up-to-date. If you don't really understand how to read iStat Pro, usually people base their notebook's temperature by the CPU temperature, so look at that.

What would be the acceptable temperature (when idle? full load?)
For me, when it's under full load, it goes up to 85, but usually stays below 55 when I am not doing heavy CPU intensive things. How about you guys? -

Don't worry about it damaging the components either, as the Core 2 Duos can withstand over 100 C temperature, so you don't have to worry about that.
Mac temp monitor ?
