Things I see Apple lacking on their MBP and more.

    MBP:
    -Doesn't have HDMI
-Doesn't have splitter cable to go dual external LCD (these splitter cables exist and have been used in many configurations).
-With other laptops you buy a dock or something to get the dual LCDs, with apple there seems to be no option.

    Apple Screens:
Not height adjustable? Do they just assume you are going to buy some expensive LCD mount?

For a company that has traditionally been more about the hardware I find it somewhat lacking. The above isn't a huge deal, but if the MBP had these things it would be nice and used by alot more people (more sales). As for the apple displays I buy Dell.

First off, your title is misleading :p. It should be more like "Things Apple missed with their products" instead of "Mac and Apple Questions", which sounds like a potential switcher wanting their questions answered.

And I agree with you. There are things that Apple should fix or add to their computers. But once again, I've stated this before, Apple isn't Dell or HP. They don't sell 5 million computers a quarter. The sales of Macs aren't high enough to allow Apple to offer a lineup of 10 computers with all configurations and all screen resolutions available. Apple doesn't have enough corporate customers to justify next-business-day onsite Mac repairs. Someone wants 1680x1050 on the 15-inch MacBook Pro, another wants an HDMI port. Then someone else wishes they added 7200 RPM hard drives. Apple just doesn't have the sales to offer customization of everything and still expect to profit, or even not make a loss.

Most people will not have a use for HDMI. Therefore if Apple adds it into the MBPs it will most likely just garner more criticism for increased cost or "they added HDMI when they should've added more USB ports".

But again, I agree with you. I wish Apple would add more USB ports. I wish Apple would offer a true DVI port on the MacBook instead of making us buy a separate cable to connect to DVI.

Yea the title is misleading. The people I have know that have Mac's would kill for HDMI. For the premium you are paying though..and the fact that nowadays with manufacturing it should be cheaper to accommodate more options. It should be feasible for Apple. Apple imo relies heavily on its amazing advertising group that the product is not selling itself so much as they are selling it.

I did buy a MBP, and as I tell people the conversation usually goes like this. me "bought a new MBP", them "ah those are expensive, apple has always been a hardware company that builds amazing hardware, the price is worth it for the hardware extras".

MBP might be expensive just because the demand for them isn't that high. Not because you are paying a premium for certain "specs". If apple added more ports like you were saying, they would sell more units and win over more sales, which would lower the cost. But Apple probably isn't interested, and their product doesn't have to be THAT amazing. Their advertising group kicks ass and they have a unique design that offers something different. My 2-cents and the desire to have it all =).

Tried to change the title.. can't.
