So I have pretty much narrowed it down to getting a Mac Mini, I want to get a new mac but want to spend the least amount of money and I don't want to buy anything super expensive in case I decide I don't like it.

So I was wondering if anyone here has a Mac Mini? Is there anything I need to watch out for or anything particular thing about this model that you don't like?

also, do you have any regrets in getting one?

Its pretty much just going to sit behind my LCD, I am going to use it for basic stuff like surfing the web, thinking about getting a KVM switch so I can switch back to my PC if I decide to game.

My friend has one, and we have one at work. The current iteration runs OS X great. I'd suggest the lower end one, with 2GB installed by apple(you really don't want to take a mac mini apart). Then if you need to burn you can get an external burner, same with a hard drive.

Only thing people tend to dislike about their mac Mini's is that they have 2.5 inch hard drives so they may be slightly more sluggish then their desktop brethren whom have 7200 rpm 3.5 inch hd's, other wise the performance should be great. Also keep in mind they don't have spectacular graphics, but if your not looking to do intense gaming you wont even notice.

My brother has one and loves it. We upgraded the ram in a half hour (easier when you're not nervous about ripping apart the little things) with a plaster spreader. Eventually we'll replace his wireless card with something better, but it's low on the list.

If you don't plan on burning DVDs or if you have a DVD burner in another machine, you can go with the cheaper model, and either just stick with it or upgrade the drive, internally or externally.

Its a nice budget Mac...and doesn't sound like you're doing anything intensive on it. Go for it! :)
