These days, I'd go with a laptop since it provides mobility. Plus, you can attach a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to it to get the desktop experience. Laptops these days are very capable machines, giving near-desktop-like performance.

Get a Macbook. It's the same parts except you get mobility added in.

it really depends on what you gonna use it for and if money is an issue. you'll get better spec for lower price with imac, but then, of course, you are missing the portability of a macbook. it all depends on what's important for you.

Would be nice, but not everyone has that kind of money so it's either or situation. So, when are you getting the new aluminum model? It seems to be missing from your collection. :D

Oh it's a bit hard to see the difference without seeing the keys. I am tempted by Amazon's 24 month interest free offer on notebooks I really like the new aluminum Macbook. Gotta stay strong.

Screen realestate would seem to be highly important to you on that regard, in which an iMac would provide more screen-space than a laptop would. But, you could always get an external monitor and hook up the laptop to it.

I would choose getting a laptop + external monitor, but it will be a bit more costly than getting an iMac.
