Okay, so i recently bought a macbook. Used vmware fusion and installed windows xp, but then it crashed right? The vmx file got messed up... and basically all i did was delete the virtual machine and uninstalled the program. I was just wondering... you noe how i created a partition for the xp? Yeah... is it still on the computer?

How can i check how many partitions are on my computer? What partitions are normal? Is there any programs to delete any partitions that aren't macosx related?

Thank you. I'm loving this mac.

You can check what partitions your Mac has by going to Disk Utility. Just search for that in Spotlight.

You can repartition the hard drive with Partition Magic in Windows. On OS X you'll have to use the Boot Camp Installer to re-partition.

Sam, I had a similar question:

    1. Can one use QTparted (based on Linux kernel) to partition the macHDD into smaller partitions; by first formating the machdd cleanly. and have a disk map like this---(160G hdd size)

    60 MacHDD|30 FAT32 data|30 FAT32 data|40 FAT32/NTFS WinXP via bootcamp|

Can this be done using bootcamp?

Will you have this in your user switcher's guide?

    thanks

I don't think you can do that via Boot Camp, but more so some other third party program.

So, I could partition the whole drive using, say QTParted, and install OS X first, then use bootcamp to install XP? I wish to use the OS X as my primary OS, and XP OS for software that does not come in OS X; but wish to retain interconnectivity between documents I work on either side. Does this make sense?
